Brittany Perkins, 18, a People for the Ethical Treatment of
Animals (PETA) activist, drew plenty of curiosity with her
figure-hugging dress made of real lettuce leaves.
She stepped out at King George Square on Wednesday holding a
sign that read "Turn Over a New Leaf - Go Vegan".
Ms Perkins - aka the Lettuce Lady - says billions of animals
suffer while humans raise and kill them for food.
The proud vegan argues this contributes to climate change,
resource depletion, pollution and world hunger.
Her dress was left a little soggy after the statement.
"I wanted to brave the rain and cold because it's nothing
compared to what our animals go through," she said.
PETA boasts a bevy of vegan beauties on its list of sexy
activists including Lynx ad girl and singer Sophie Monk.
